Short biographical information on student note-takers.
The course follows a seminar-style format. In this, though the readings and general discussion topics are pre-determined and led by the teacher, much of class discussion is conducted by students. Likewise, the lecture notes to be found in this OpenCourseWare course are compilations of past students' reflections, insights, and ideas. Notes from the following students were used in creating this course's class notes: John Daly, Lindsay Finger, Libby Hasse, Tyler Stavinoha, and Kimmy Tavarez.

John Daly was a Spanish and Premedical Studies major from Louisville, Kentucky. He was a member of the Notre Dame varsity cross-country, indoor track, and outdoor track teams. He was an employee of Notre Dame’s Safewalk program, and the hall clerk of his dorm, Sorin College. His senior year, John was awarded the Langford Award, for excellence in Spanish Literature, and, upon graduation, will be the Thomas A. Dooley intern at the Sr. Maura Brannick Health Center in South Bend, Indiana. Afterwards, John will attend medical school. Notre Dame OpenCourseWare would like to thank John for his note-taking, particularly in his ability to categorize, organize, and simplify the complex movements of the seminar. |

Lindsay Finger was a Spanish and Accountancy major from Homer Glen, Illinois. While at Notre Dame, she participated in Dance Company of Notre Dame, Student International Business Council, and was a resident assistant for her dorm, Lewis Hall. Lindsay studied in Toledo, Spain for both the summer of 2005 as well as the Spring semester of 2007. As a senior, she was inducted into the Sigma Delta Pi Spanish Honor Society and hired to work after graduation for KPMG in Chigaco. Notre Dame OpenCourseWare would like to thank Lindsay for her note-taking, particularly for her impeccable attention to detail, and her insight into the more specific, complex ideas presented in class lectures. |

Libby Hasse was a Spanish and Anthropology major
from Iron Mountain, Michigan. While at Notre Dame, she
participated Circle K, Teamwork for Tomorrow, and was Multicultural and
Liturgical Commissioner for her dorm, Cavanaugh Hall. In the
2006-2007 school year, Libby studied in Chile, for one of Notre Dame’s
international study programs. As a senior, Libby Hasse was
inducted into the Sigma Delta Pi National Spanish Honors Society, and
upon graduating, plans to join the Peace Corps, to work for 27 months
in a yet-unspecified location in Latin America. Notre Dame
OpenCourseWare would like to thank Libby for her note-taking,
particularly in her breadth of personal insight and personal
research. |

Tyler Stavinoha was a Spanish and Premedical
Studies major from Austin, Texas. He was a leader of Young Life,
a radio disc jockey for WVFI, and a resident assistant for his hall,
Sorin College. Tyler studied in Puebla, Mexico in the Fall of
2006 with Notre Dame’s International Studies Program. As a senior
he received the Albert LeMay award for Service to the Hispanic
Community, and plans to attend UT-Houston Medical School. Notre
Dame OpenCourseWare would like to thank Tyler for his note-taking,
particularly in his personal and anecdotal information regarding course
themes. |

Kimmy Tavarez was a Spanish and Sociology major
from Anaheim, California. As a Notre Dame student, Kimmy studied
abroad in Spring of 2007, held an internship with the Dismas House of
Michiana and was a part of hall council for her residence, McGlinn
Hall. After graduation, Kimmy took a job with Steve & Barry’s
on Long Island, New York. Notre Dame OpenCourseWare would like to
thank Kimmy for her note-taking, particularly for her ability to
classify and organize a broader perspective on course ideas. |
