Read chapter 7 of Book I of the
Nicomachean Ethics with special care. There, Aristotle offers a second argument (from self-sufficiency) for a conclusion he has already reached on the basis of a previous argument.
In no more than two typed pages:
- Say what that "result" or conclusion is.
- Indicate briefly why that conclusion is significant.
- Lay out the two arguments he offers for it.
- In the course of doing so, be sure to indicate what Aristotle means by his crucial terms, especially "end," 'final," "final without qualification" and "self-sufficiency".
