This activity is designed to demonstrate the range of options available to African Americans as they considered how best to protest their unequal conditions.
Each group presents the strengths of their forming ideology. After each group, the other groups pose questions, then challenges. Determine a winner.
Six groups:
- Political party participation
- Legal channels (i.e. NAACP)
- Armed self-defense
- Collaborative, multi-racial direct action
- Black separatism
- Alliance with foreign collaborators, including Communists
