Goal Setting Exercise

Lecture 3, Exercise 2

Part 1

In the Time Management Exercise you had the opportunity to visualize what your semester will look like and what choices you will need to consider. Based on that exercise, identify a time management problem you may run into in the fall. If you can’t think of one, consider the following situation: How will you handle a home football weekend?  What are your options?

You have assignments in all of your classes:

  1. Composition/Seminar:  Reading to be completed for discussion in class on the Monday after the game.
  2. Mathematics:  Departmental exam on Tuesday after the game
  3. Science:  Test on Friday
  4. Philosophy:  Big reading assignment (50 pages) to be completed by Tuesday
  5. History:  Big reading assignment (350 pages) to be completed by Wednesday

Which of the following options might you choose?

Part 2:

How might you tap into your skills or knowledge (the talents you identified earlier) to help you get through the scenario described above?
