Reading: Tutorials
- Building (Anthony Curtis, UNC Pembroke)
- Uploading an image
- Editing a script
In-Class Activity: Flickr photo
- Choose one of your publicly-available images from Flickr.
- Download a copy of the image.
Leave the Flickr image page open; you will need the URL. - In Second Life, create a large poster board - about 1.5 x 2.0 x 0.1 meters.
It should be proportional to your image size (the same aspect ratio). - Upload your image to Second Life
- Drag the image from your inventory onto the front of the board.
- Copy the script from the sample poster to your board.
- Edit the script with your image title andURL
- Leave object edit mode, touch the poster, and accept its offer to view the Flickr page.
- "Take" the object (it goes to your inventory).
- Go to the floating gallery and replace one of the blank boards with your poster
In-Class Activity: Podcast soundtrack
- In your plot in the sculpture garden, create a large block
- Use one of your sculpture images as the texture.
Again, the block's size will need to be proportional to that of the image. - Copy the script from the sample "sculpture" onto your block.
(Prof. Clark will add the "soundtrack")
