Assignment: Hour 12

Mask and Motion Guide

  1. Open "chap12-start.fla" and put the "sailboat-sunset1 graphic" in a background layer
  2. Label all layers
  3. Above the background, add a mask layer with a large oval
  4. Above this add two more layers
  5. In the top layer, use the pencil to draw a path for a motion guide
  6. In the layer beneath, drop an instance of the bird symbol from the library
  7. Turn the top layer into a motion guide and the layer beneath into a guided layer
  8. Align the bird with the beginning of the motion path
  9. Click frame one -on the timeline, not in a layer- and add at least 30 frames (NOT keyframes)
  10. Click the last frame in the bird layer and convert it into a keyframe
  11. Align the bird with the end of the motion path
  12. Test the movie
  13. Save-and-compact the file
