Interactive Flash Project Description
Overview: create a multimedia product about a
personality, real or imaginary.
Objective: show that you can apply
- Interactive features of Flash
- Basic principles of visual design
Minimum requirements
- 600 x 800 size
- Four distinct pages/screens
- Publish on your blog
- Use standard fonts or embed required fonts
- Incorporate sound and images
Content
- Personality - actor, superhero, politician, musician, athlete, author, scientist, cartoon character, professor, or ...
- Text may be copied and pasted from web sites, but credit must be given.
- Page ideas: biography, timeline, works, news, friends, links, gallery, FAQ, quiz, games, store, credits
- Optional: introductory animation
- It can be funny or serious.
- Media should be used with a purpose, not randomly.
- Most of the Flash work must be original. If you incorporate open source material or a template you must give credit.
Visual Design
- Color – choices, contrast
- Elements – font choice and readability; appropriate use of media; use of shapes and lines
- Layout – arrangement of elements, balance, consistency, density (use of white space)
Possible forms of interactivity
- Ask for and display users’ names
- Track content user has viewed
- User takes a quiz and computer gives a score
- User enters numbers and computer calculates something
- User sends email feedback
- User plays a game
- User moves pieces around to solve a puzzle
- User controls the sound level of background music
- User skips introductory animation
